FinOps

Finance and Operations 'FinOps' Manager

London, England
Work Type: Full Time
Our FinOps Managers work with some of the most exciting startups in the UK, and beyond. As a FinOps Manager, you’ll work directly within our partners’ teams managing the delivery of finance and operational tasks. You’ll be working with them - and managing the rest of the FinOps team (usually one of our FinOps Associates) - to build world-class finance and ops processes.

This is a hybrid UK-based role - for those able to come into London roughly weekly. You can flex how you work to suit you: wfh, at your partners’ offices or in our office near London Bridge but we ask you’re available to be in London from time-to-time.

By the way, it’s ok if you don’t hit every single one of these requirements, if you have a passion for changing accounting and finance for the better, we’d love to speak with you.

What you’ll be doing

We promise work that excites and challenges you with some of the most exciting, and fast growing businesses in the UK. You’ll get hands-on experience working across multiple start-ups and scale-ups, from day one.

With startups, no two days are the same but you can expect to take on the following sorts of things:
  • In their office, or on Zoom, working directly with founders and CFOs as a part of their team
  • Overseeing and managing all Finance and Ops processes across multiple partners at the same time
  • Designing and building financial processes, iteratively looking for improvements
  • Optimising processes and systems, integrating new cutting-edge tools
  • Coaching and developing the FinOps Associate team

About you

We’re looking for someone who wants to break free of the way things have always been done. Someone who craves a job that they really love and can challenge themselves to develop and grow.

For this role, you’ll need to have:
  • 3 or more years experience in finance & accounting (in an accounting firm or small business)
  • Excellent communication in both written and spoken English
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities
  • Confidence in managing the most senior people in the team (CEO and CFO level)

You’ll be someone who:
  • Excels at organisation and project management to prioritise work
  • Doesn’t shy away from hard conversations with stakeholders
  • Can work independently and motivate themselves
  • Is able to assess and improve processes, implementing new tools where needed
  • Is excited about changing accounting and finance for the better

What you'll get from us

We believe reward should be tied to how well we all do.

You’ll get:
  • A starting salary of £58,000
  • Opportunity to progress and increase your salary every 6 months
  • A share of the company profits paid out annually
  • 34 days holiday incl. public holidays
  • A home working allowance for your perfect work-from-home setup

You’ll be in the deep-end working directly with our startup partners, but we will support you with the team and training you need to deliver real value.

So, we’ll also give you:
  • 10% of your time dedicated to learning and development
  • A  small team that will have your back and support you as you grow
  • A senior member of the team to coach and mentor you through the business
  • Free coaching through More Happi and therapy through Spill
  • Free access to all our FinOps Academy content to go through whenever you need
